Christian Heritage also serves teenagers who are state wards and who about to 'age out' of the Department of Health and Human Services. This program is for seventeen- to twenty-year-old adolescents who are willing and motivated to live on their own with minimal help. Christian Heritage secures an apartment and teaches the youth how to live independently.
While in the Transitional Living Program youth must have a job, be involved in school (high school, GED program or secondary education), and participate in our Life Skills Training Program. This program is a thirty-two section manual that teaches specific skills like budgeting, insurance, nutrition and apartment living. We are able to serve youth in Norfolk, Kearney and Grand Island.
